Legal & Safety Notice
Last updated: July 8, 2026
This page is general website information, not legal advice and not a substitute for a signed waiver, facility release, insurance requirements, or attorney-reviewed participation agreement.
Participation Involves Risk
Hockey goalie training can involve skating, synthetic ice movement, on-ice activity, off-ice drills, pucks, sticks, blades, nets, boards, training aids, physical exertion, and contact with playing or facility surfaces. These activities can involve risk of falls, collisions, strains, sprains, bruises, cuts, dental or facial injury, concussion, aggravation of existing conditions, and other serious injury.
Waiver, Consent, and Insurance
- Participation may require a separate signed waiver, release, assumption-of-risk form, and facility agreement before training.
- Goalies under 18 should have parent or guardian consent before participating.
- Participants and families are responsible for maintaining appropriate health, accident, and medical insurance.
- Defiance Goalie Academy's website request form does not confirm a session, replace a waiver, or create a coach-participant relationship by itself.
Equipment and Readiness
- Participants should use properly fitted goalie equipment suitable for hockey goalie training.
- Players should not train while injured, ill, under medical restriction, or recovering from a suspected concussion without appropriate medical clearance.
- Participants should follow all coach instructions, facility rules, and posted safety requirements.
- Any injury, equipment issue, unsafe condition, or medical concern should be reported immediately.
Youth Athlete Safety
Defiance expects respectful, age-appropriate coaching and family communication. Parents and guardians should share any supervision, medical, behavioral, or access needs before training. When a third-party organization, league, or facility policy applies, those requirements should be followed as well.
No Guaranteed Outcomes
Training is designed to help goalies improve their skills, confidence, and understanding of the position. Defiance does not guarantee team placement, playing time, wins, rankings, scholarships, injury prevention, or any specific athletic result.
Photos, Video, and Coaching Review
Training photos or video may be used for coaching review or academy promotion only when appropriate consent has been provided. Families can ask about media use or opt out before a session.
Emergency and Facility Matters
In an emergency, coaches or facility staff may contact emergency services. Participants should provide current emergency contact and medical information when requested. Training may be rescheduled, paused, or stopped for safety, weather, facility, equipment, conduct, or medical reasons.
